Philippines is one of the fastest-growing economies and most populated countries globally, greatly affecting its energy demand. The increase in demand leads to an electricity generation sector's capacity maintain supply-demand balance. Thus, this may lead power shortage, high costs, increased greenhouse gas emissions without proper planning. This study aims create a Long-Range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP)-based Baseline Model for Philippines' expansion model will serve as tool government planners develop long-term planning model. simulates technological, economic environmental aspect existing Philippine system that can be used baseline developing Business-As-Usual Scenario Alternative models assess different policy pathways. developed LEAP following independent multi-regional national scale structure based on grid off-grid regions showed accurate result with actual data. was able replicate through set-up basic parameters.
